I have been using booking.com for over a decade to book my stays worldwide. What I like about booking.com is, it offers complete travel services in a single website, from booking flights, renting cars, airport taxis, day tour experiences and much more.

The customer service at Booking.com is excellent and responds quickly to any issues that might occur during your travels.

Airbnb

If you are looking for a homestay or a unique vacation home, whether you want to share a room or rent an entire house, Airbnb is my go-to book homestays.

Airbnb has also expanded in their offering, and they offer day tours under the experience section of their application, it is worth exploring the experience section, as it is mostly experiences offered by the locals from each town you wish to visit worldwide.

Top Online Flights Booking Sites in the World

Skyscanner

Skyscanner is my absolute top website to first compare flight prices and connections worldwide and then choosing the best airline provider to book my flights.

What I like about Skyscanner is it offers multi-cities stops, and transits and gives you if you require moving from one airport to another. Skyscanner is a great flight finder website.

Booking.com

As I mentioned above, booking has launched lately a flights finder services on their website, I booked a flight from Dubai to Jordan this year through the app and it was a swift process.

Google.com

If you put in Google.com search bar to compare flight prices and how to get from one place to another, Google will show you all the results and which airlines offer the connections to your desired place.

Top Buses, Trains, Ferries Booking Sites in the World

Trainline

Trainline is an application you can download on your mobile to book your train rides across Europe (includes the UK) The tickets will be sent to your email, they are digital with no need of printing them.

I used Trainline endlessly for the past 8 years when I lived in the UK and travelling around Europe. It shows real-time trains arrivals and departures and sends alerts about any service disruptions as well as refunding train tickets in the case of cancelled train services.

Flixbus

Flixbus is another mobile application or a website you can use to book your bus rides across European cities. All bookings are easy and quick and there is no need to print the tickets in advance.

I used Flixbus several times when I travelled in Germany and Italy, and my experiences were seamless, clean, and efficient.

Omio

Omio is a great and inclusive website and mobile application that allows you to book your flights, trains, ferries and buses around the world in one getaway.

Best Car Rental Booking International Site

Rental Cars

Rental cars application that is powered by Booking.com is the best application you can download to your mobile to compare and book your rental cars worldwide.

It is very easy to navigate and what I like most about it, Rental Cars only list the trusted car rentals agencies in the world, there is no additional fees, you get free cancellations 24 hours before your booking, it gives you all the details of your booking and you can use the filters to choose your preferred car style and accessories for your trips.

Bonus Tip: usually when you book your rental car through the application it offers you a complete car insurance offer or to go ahead with your booking without it, I recommend to skip this step and if you want the full insurance with your car, always aim to get one through the car rental agency directly, most of the times they are cheaper and they can give you a good offer and more inclusive protection.

Uber is the most popular application to book your car taxi at the leisure to move inside the cities or towns.

Despite that Uber is used mostly worldwide, in some cities and countries you may not find Uber in specific  but you could find other alternatives. For example, in both Vietnam and Indonesia they both use Gojek and GoGrab Applications instead. Another example, Uber is used in Rome, Italy, but it is banned in all other Italian Cities!

Booking.com offers a great choice to book your airport transfers directly from their application or website, just select the airport transfer button and list your pick-up and drop-off places. It is hassle-free, online payment and you can choose the size of your airport transfer if you are arriving with a big group of people and/or lots of luggage.

Airalo E-Sim card was a life saviour during my trips outside the European Continent. All what you need is to first check your mobile phone if it is compatible with E-Sims and if so, you can download Airalo E-Sim and follow the easy instructions once you arrive at your country.

I used Airalo E-Sim during my 7 months of travels in Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, and Jordan. The best thing I enjoyed about using Airalo was the extensive data roaming packages it offers, and you can collect points to get discounts on your chosen packages as well as it worked amazingly when I was roaming the remote Indonesian islands, such as Raja Ampat.

It was very helpful using Wise in both Indonesia and Vietnam during my travels in Southeast Asia during 2023 and 2024. Wise is very popular if you are not carrying cash nor being able to withdraw money from an ATM.
